Key Responsibilities

As a Histology Technician, you'll play a crucial role in our laboratory, responsible for:

  • Maintaining and documenting laboratory equipment
  • Ensuring a safe, clean, and orderly laboratory environment
  • Preparing paraffin tissue samples for histopathologic evaluation
  • Identifying tissue sample orientation and performing paraffin embedding procedures
  • Using microtomy skills to prepare routine microscopic slides
  • Performing routine hematoxylin and eosin staining and cover slipping microscopic slides
  • Troubleshooting equipment and operation failures
  • Analyzing raw data collection and solving for deviations in standard operating procedures
  • Disposing of hazardous chemicals and generating hazardous chemical lab packs
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • An Associate's degree in a science-related field (preferred)
  • At least 1+ years of laboratory experience and/or training as a Histology Technician (ASCP) eligible within one year of employment
  • Identification of tissue organs and/or tissue samples, microtomy skills, and routine hematoxylin and eosin staining (preferred)
