Responsibilities

As a Care Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator, your role will encompass various responsibilities aimed at supporting patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver personal care and hygiene assistance to patients, ensuring their comfort through activities such as feeding, bathing, and mobility support. Prepare necessary equipment and supplies for medical procedures and examinations. Monitor, document, and report all clinical activities within your scope of practice, observing any changes in patient conditions and communicating these to the nursing staff. Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers by managing personal belongings and providing essential comfort items. Maintain an organized and efficient work environment, ensuring supplies and equipment are stocked and reporting any issues as needed. Uphold safety standards within the workplace, adhering to regulations and infection prevention protocols. Perform receptionist duties, including managing communications, greeting visitors, and providing information in accordance with established procedures. Support general activities within the unit to enhance operational efficiency. Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program or equivalent military medical training. Preferred six months of relevant work experience, particularly in a hospital environment. Experience in specialized units is advantageous. Preference will be given to candidates with backgrounds as both Certified Nursing Assistants and Unit Coordinators.

Licensure & Certification:

Must hold a valid certification as a Nursing Assistant from the Washington State Nursing Commission. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required. Candidates must be prepared to complete quarterly competency certifications as part of ongoing training and compliance.
