Role Summary
The CFA Institute is seeking qualified candidates to become part of our expanding Property & Casualty Actuarial Consulting Practice as an Actuarial Consultant. This role necessitates collaboration with a team of experts to analyze intricate issues and devise effective solutions for self-insured clients. The consultant will engage with clients, which include major self-insured corporations, captive insurance entities, state regulatory bodies, and P&C insurance firms.

Key Responsibilities:
- Concentrate on loss reserving initiatives while also engaging in pricing/ratemaking, predictive modeling, economic capital modeling, and loyalty rewards strategies.
- Exhibit the ability to integrate into ongoing projects, taking charge of tasks and ensuring effective communication with clients.
- Review and validate analysts' work, ensuring technical precision and integrity across various analyses, templates, and reports.
- Compile, verify, and assess client data for reasonableness.
- Utilize advanced actuarial theories and principles to develop statistical models.
- Prepare and/or supervise the creation of production exhibits and comprehensive reports to convey findings.
- Assist or lead in crafting proposals and presentations for potential clients.
- Participate in client meetings and marketing presentations as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of two actuarial exams completed; progress towards ACAS/FCAS is preferred.
- 4+ years of actuarial experience within the property and casualty sector, with exposure to Property and Casualty clients such as large self-insured corporations, captives, (re)insurers, and state regulators. Previous consulting experience is advantageous.
- Exceptional organizational capabilities, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to cultivate robust relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry stakeholders.
- Proven track record of fostering a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and continuous improvement within the practice and across the broader organization.
- Willingness to travel as required to support client engagements and business development efforts.
- Self-driven and proactive, with a demonstrated ability to create client-focused solutions.
- Collaborative team player, capable of working effectively in a cross-functional setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with R, SAS, SQL, or VBA is a plus.
