Job Summary

This role is responsible for assisting the physician and staff with the daily coordination of patient care and physician access. The ideal candidate will function as the liaison between patients, staff, and physicians, maintaining efficient patient flow and delivering direct patient care within the scope of licensure and in accordance with SMG policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the physician and staff with the daily coordination of patient care and physician access.

  • Collect lab specimens according to departmental guidelines. Accurately label specimens.
  • Prioritize patient care by implementing physician orders and nursing procedures.
  • Ensure proper preparation for patient visit. Prepare pertinent information needed for patient visit.
  • Effectively communicate problems, concerns, or issues to the Office Supervisor/Manager appropriately and promptly.
  • Assure all patients are correctly identified prior to providing and/or documenting care.

  • Employs appropriate and timely use of Tasking in EHR.


Requirements

This role requires an Associate's degree and a New Jersey State Nursing License and BLS certification. 0 - 1 years experience is preferred, with 2-4 years experience preferred. IV placement experience is required. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing. Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail) and Standard Office Technology in a Window-based environment is preferred. Experience with patient care equipment and EHR, Practice Management System, and Departmental/Ancillary Systems is also preferred.

Work Environment

This role is based in a healthcare setting and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be able to commute to satellite offices as needed.
