Job Summary

The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is a key member of the Perdue Foods team, responsible for improving workforce productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of manpower, parts, and material, and equipment access.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and schedule all planned maintenance work performed on the plant site.
  • Ensure records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting are compliant.
  • Develop and maintain a proactive maintenance environment by balancing backlog relative to available resources.
  • Plan and schedule shutdowns (major and minor) and develop model shutdown plans by standard segments.
  • Develop Planner reference systems, including a file of Planned Job Packages for recurring jobs, plus labor and material libraries for each equipment center.
  • Keep the senior-level Maintenance Planner and/or Maintenance Manager properly informed of abnormal or critical situations and seek advice on matters outside the Planner's knowledge or authority.
  • Makes recommendations for system improvement and promotes the conservation of energy.
Requirements
  • Further technical education beyond high school or vocational training.
  • Minimum Perdue Maintenance A Mechanic technical and competency knowledge.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influential behaviors.
  • Proven oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Maintenance Software such as Maximo, SAP, etc.
  • Working knowledge of parts room activities and procedures.
Work Environment

This position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities. The associate must be able to be exposed to all chemicals found in a poultry processing operation and a wastewater treatment facility. Protective safety equipment is required for the job and for various locations. Travel to remote facilities and/or offices for meetings may be necessary.
