Position Overview

Join the innovative environment at Adamson Analytical Laboratories, a member of the Tentamus North America network, as we seek a dedicated Microbiology Laboratory Technician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the microbiology supervisor to prioritize sample processing, including:
    • Preparation of media
    • Weighing, plating, and counting samples
    • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within the Microbiology Laboratory
    • Documenting procedures and results in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
    • Conducting basic setup, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
    • Performing regular checks on instruments such as balances, refrigerators, and incubators
    • Receiving and logging reagents, along with their certificates of analysis and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
    • Compiling reports and analyzing data using Excel, laboratory software, and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
    • Handling and disposing of hazardous laboratory waste properly
  • Assist in managing inventory and restocking laboratory supplies.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance laboratory efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Execute assigned projects to adapt to evolving laboratory requirements.
  • Contribute to the overall organization and cleanliness of the laboratory.
  • Perform end-of-day cleaning and waste disposal tasks.

Position Type & Schedule:

Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Weekend and holiday hours may be required | Eligible for overtime

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess authorization to work in the United States without restrictions, a minimum of a high school diploma (an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology is preferred), and/or relevant experience in a laboratory setting. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in microbiology.
  • Familiarity with laboratory terminology, biology, and standard laboratory techniques.
  • Proficient in using LIMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
