Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing various financial processes, including fixed assets management, marketing budget management, and intercompany reconciliations. This role will also serve as the single point of contact for marketing, supply chain, R&D, sales accounting, and EDI communications with vendors and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Fixed Assets Management
- Oversee the accounting and reporting for fixed assets, including tracking acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Ensure accurate recording and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Marketing Budget Management (BMI)
- Review the accuracy of the marketing expense against the budget and follow up with the team on variances.
- Liaise with the FP&A team on clarifications related to the forecast.
- Shared Services Deliverables Review
- Review and analyze financial deliverables, including journal entries and account reconciliations from shared services, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate with shared services teams to address discrepancies and implement improvements.
- Transition new journals and reconciliations as needed.
- Single Point of Contact (SPOC) Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison for:
- Marketing Accounting: Manage and communicate financial aspects related to marketing activities.
- Supply Chain Accounting: Oversee financial transactions and reporting related to supply chain operations.
- EDI for Vendors and Customers: Manage electronic data interchange (EDI) processes, ensuring accurate and timely data exchange.
- R&D Accounting: Support financial tracking and reporting for research and development activities.
- Sales Accounting: Oversee sales accounting processes, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and reporting.
- Perform reconciliations of intercompany transactions, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Collaborate with international finance teams to maintain accurate intercompany balances.
- Create and update process documentation for key accounting functions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide support for internal and external audits, including preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience (2+ from a large publicly traded company preferred or audit firm).
- Strong understanding of fixed assets management, marketing budget management, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Experience with EDI processes and familiarity with shared services models.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills required.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
