Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to all clients.
  • Prepare, review, and submit necessary documentation to U.S. Customs, agents, and clients, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues that may hinder the timely release or movement of shipments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with correspondent brokers and service providers to exceed customer expectations.
  • Address banking and letter of credit challenges, providing guidance on payment terms.
  • Manage delinquent accounts and perform necessary accounting adjustments.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and coordinate post-entry activities on behalf of customers.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and corrections in computer systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis as directed by the Account Administrator.
  • Facilitate post-entry processes and manage entry verification.
  • Access external client systems as required.
  • Communicate effectively with business partners through various channels, including written correspondence and phone calls.
  • Generate operational trend reports and keep partners informed about exceptions.
  • Respond to pre-alerts in accordance with customer standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of FedEx products and services.
  • Collaborate with customers, internal teams, and management at all levels.
  • Support Account Administrators with account management tasks, including exception logs and specialized reports.
  • Perform entry reconciliations as necessary.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with customer representatives.
  • Execute duties related to Administration and Customs Trade processes within a small office environment.
  • Facilitate entry processing and resolve exceptions before and after arrival.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 12 months of experience in brokerage, transportation, or customer service is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and standard office equipment is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with knowledge of HTS classification and familiarity with the harmonized tariff system.
  • Understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and other federal requirements relevant to the role.
  • Paid training will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in brokerage is preferred, along with familiarity with classification and the harmonized tariff system.
