Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the kitchen and cooking areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and sanitary condition.
  • Prepare delicious meals and cook a variety of dishes in large quantities.
  • Follow established menus and portion control guidelines.
  • Accurately prepare special diets as required.
  • Record food temperatures for all meals served.
  • Prepare pureed foods as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with staff across all departments.
  • Maintain sanitation standards in cleaning solutions.
  • Assist in serving meals to residents.
  • Clean cooking areas and serving equipment.
  • Report any resident care concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Participate in training and orientation of dietary staff.
  • Present food in an appealing manner to residents.
  • Demonstrate cooperation and willingness to work under supervision.
  • Adhere to all cleaning schedules and protocols.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare environment.
  • 1 year of food service experience is preferred.
