Position Overview:
Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations. Assume full responsibility for the restaurant in the absence of the manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise servers, runners, and other restaurant staff, ensuring compliance with all service standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs), including staff appearance and uniform standards.
  • Oversee guest service, remaining attentive to guests' needs.
  • Support the manager in establishing and monitoring completion of side-work duties.
  • Maintain financial accuracy by managing the cash bank according to SOP, ensuring it is balanced and secure.
  • Review daily communication logs from the previous shift and prepare notes for the next shift, including personnel coverage and special events.
  • Inspect the restaurant for cleanliness and proper setup, ensuring service areas are organized and tables are prepared appropriately.
  • Communicate regularly with the restaurant manager regarding special events and guest counts.
  • Assist in conducting menu training sessions and taste panels for restaurant staff.

Qualifications:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
1-2 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of food service principles and practices, including management of personnel and complex issues.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for effective interaction with guests and team members.
  • Excellent comprehension skills for addressing guest and associate inquiries and interpreting instructions.
  • Good visual acuity for seating arrangements, food expediting, and maintaining cleanliness.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this role include the ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items regularly. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

  • Frequent bending to pick up items and assist with food service.
  • Mobility is essential, as the role involves covering various areas of the restaurant.
  • Continuous standing is required, with minimal stationary periods.

Work Environment:
Primarily indoors, with potential exposure to high temperatures in certain areas.
