We are seeking an experienced Industrial Machinery Specialist to join our team at Personnel Staffing, Inc. This is a critical role that requires expertise in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery.
Job SummaryThe Industrial Machinery Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing plants, power plants, and other industrial facilities. This includes installing new machinery, performing routine inspections and maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
Key Responsibilities- Installation: Assemble and install new machinery and equipment, following blueprints and engineering specifications. Align and level machinery components to ensure proper operation. Connect machinery to power sources, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic controls.
- Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, identifying the root cause of breakdowns. Repair and replace worn or damaged components, using welding, machining, and other techniques. Lubricate and maintain moving parts to prevent wear and ensure smooth operation.
- Overhaul: Disassemble and reassemble complex machinery for major repairs or upgrades. Clean and inspect components for wear and damage. Replace worn or damaged parts with new or refurbished components. Reassemble machinery, aligning and adjusting components to ensure proper operation.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to understand installation and repair procedures. Use measuring tools and precision instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Safety: Adhere to safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while working with machinery. Follow lockout/tagout procedures to ensure equipment is safely isolated during maintenance.
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude: A strong foundation in mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills is essential for this role.
- Blueprint Reading Skills: The ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics is crucial for understanding installation and repair procedures.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience with a variety of hand and power tools, including welding equipment and machining tools, is necessary for this role.
- System Knowledge: Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems is required for troubleshooting and repairing machinery.
- Physical Fitness: Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects are essential for this role.
- Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and efficiently are critical for success in this role.
- Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for travel to job sites.
- Apprenticeship or Vocational Training: An apprenticeship or vocational training in millwright mechanics is highly desirable.
- Journeyman's Certification: Journeyman's certification in millwright mechanics is preferred.
- Experience with Specific Machinery: Experience with specific types of industrial machinery, such as conveyors, pumps, and turbines, is beneficial.
- PLC and CAD Software Knowledge: Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and computer-aided design (CAD) software is a plus.
