Job Title: Sous Chef

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Sandy Cove Ministries. As a key member of our Food Services department, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our culinary team, ensuring the highest quality of food and service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide spiritual leadership and guidance to department employees
  • Train and motivate employees to achieve exceptional food preparation and presentation
  • Plan and execute seasonal menu cycles and weekly menus
  • Work with group leaders to plan menus for special events
  • Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure exceptional quality and presentation
  • Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Review and address complaints and grievances in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist in conducting inventory and managing department supplies

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership and culinary skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Culinary certificate or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in food service leadership

Working Conditions:

The physical demands of this role include standing for extended periods, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The work environment is fast-paced and may be loud at times. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Salary: $18+/hour
