With the increasing prevalence of chronic conditions such as obesity and diabetes, alongside a growing elderly population, the demand for specialized wound care is on the rise.
Position Overview: The Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) plays a pivotal role in overseeing the clinical operations of the Wound Care Center. This includes responsibilities such as patient care assessment, care planning, and the implementation of quality improvement initiatives. The CNM collaborates closely with the Program Director and Medical Director to fulfill the center's objectives, ensuring optimal healing outcomes and high levels of patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of Case Management, providing tailored assessments and patient education related to wound care.
- Organize and prioritize clinical tasks while supervising clinical staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs).
- Engage with healthcare providers and hospital personnel to address clinical and patient needs effectively.
- Continuously evaluate current processes to identify areas for improvement while adhering to regulatory standards.
- Facilitate staff development through training sessions and individualized instruction.
- Recognize and reward staff contributions through constructive feedback.
- Assist the Program Director in aligning program objectives with budgetary considerations.
- Coordinate vein care services if applicable, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
- Work alongside the Program and Medical Directors to meet quality indicators for the Wound Care Center.
- May take on documentation responsibilities as needed.
- Fulfill patient care duties based on staffing requirements.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- At least one year of RN experience is required; two or more years is preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience is advantageous.
- Wound care certification is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Current BLS certification is mandatory.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
Compensation: The salary for this position typically ranges from $76,000 to $125,180 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
