Job Summary

The Engineering Technician is a key member of our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our simulation devices. This role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and upkeep of complex electronics systems, working closely with the Electrical Engineering group to identify and resolve issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of training devices and supporting equipment
  • Work with Electrical Engineering to troubleshoot and update electrical/electronic simulator systems
  • Conduct daily operational readiness testing to ensure devices are functioning correctly
  • Prepare maintenance action reports and other support documentation
  • Provide simulator instructor and student support
  • Support simulator modifications and upgrades
  • Assist with simulator certification activities
Requirements
  • 3-7 years of experience in a related field, with a working knowledge of flight simulators or equivalent complex electronics systems
  • Demonstrated experience reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting electronic components
  • Working knowledge of instruments and devices associated with the avionics industry
  • Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers
  • Ability to function in a highly regulated environment
  • Ability to effectively use computers to navigate standard office PC software
Working Environment

This role is primarily performed in an office environment with low to moderate noise and bright or dim lighting. The work is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as external customers.
