Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our team at MyCareersFuture. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure backend systems for our web applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Backend Development: Design and develop high-quality backend systems using the LAMP stack and Java, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • API Development: Create and manage RESTful APIs and services to support front-end functionalities and mobile applications, following best practices and coding standards.
  • Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas, write efficient queries, and ensure data integrity and security, adhering to industry standards.
  • Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • System Architecture: Participate in architectural decisions and contribute to designing software solutions that meet business requirements and technical constraints, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor, identify, and resolve performance issues to ensure high availability and scalability of applications, using tools and techniques such as profiling and debugging.
  • Security: Implement and enforce security best practices, conduct regular security audits, and address vulnerabilities promptly, ensuring the security and integrity of our systems.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement, and promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, UX/UI designers, product managers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality products that meet business requirements and customer needs.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in backend development, with a proven track record of successful projects, and a strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency: Strong understanding of PHP and Java, and extensive experience with the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), as well as a deep understanding of database technologies and cloud platforms.
  • Frameworks: Deep experience with at least one PHP web framework, such as Laravel, and a strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Databases: Strong experience with MySQL and other database technologies, and a deep understanding of data modeling and database design.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and a strong understanding of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead projects independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive mindset, and a strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
  • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, and a strong understanding of business requirements and customer needs.
