Compensation: $48.00 per hour
Department Highlights:
- Support multiple facilities within a 150-mile radius
- Mileage reimbursement provided
- Additional $5 per hour for float assignments
- Weekend shift differential of $1.25 per hour
- Evening/night shift differential of $1.25 per hour; 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
- Minimum of 24 hours of work required per month
- At least one weekend rotation required monthly
- 3 months of prior Long Term Care experience required; 6 months preferred
- No contract obligation necessary
The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a dedicated and flexible Registered Nurse to fulfill the role of a Travel RN. This position allows for local travel, providing care across various GSS locations within a 150-mile radius from the home address. The role offers competitive compensation, mileage reimbursement, and flexibility without the need for a contract. The RN will demonstrate expertise and practice within the full scope of nursing knowledge, adhering to age and population-specific standards as designated in their clinical setting. Responsibilities include:
- Providing care across all phases of preventative health, maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Coordinating resident care, conducting assessments, and offering education.
- Executing various nursing interventions as required.
In addition, the RN may serve as a charge nurse, delegating appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel based on their job descriptions, skills, and the care needs of residents. Adequate support and guidance will be provided to ensure safe and reliable care delivery and to address any service concerns. The RN will operate within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules relevant to their state of practice and licensure. The foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct is rooted in the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses as published by the American Nurses Association.
Qualifications:
Candidates should be graduates from a nationally accredited nursing program, with a preference for those accredited by organizations such as CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA. A Bachelor’s Degree in nursing is preferred. The ideal candidate will hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing in the practice area and/or possess multistate licensure if applicable. Maintenance of required department-specific competencies and certifications is essential.
