We are seeking a skilled Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse to join our team at Travel Nurse Across America. As a PCU RN, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Job SummaryThe ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and be certified in ACLS and BLS. You will be responsible for monitoring and adjusting specialized equipment used on patients, interpreting electronic displays, and initiating corrective action when necessary.
Responsibilities- Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays
- Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology
- ACLS and BLS certification
- 2 years of recent acute care experience
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
- Ability to lift 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Please note that additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
