Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficient procurement and management of the energy and gas supply resources in support of business operations to achieve the company's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a stable and cost-effective supply of natural gas, electricity, and industrial gases.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts with suppliers to meet the company's energy and gas requirements.
  • Make financial decisions regarding energy and gas supply, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Work with mill areas to develop supply plans and ensure a smooth supply chain.
  • Track and report gas material inventory and position to plan.
  • Fulfill the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Fulfill the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality Commitment.
  • Demonstrate commitment to teamwork by fostering an environment that embodies trust and respect.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or experience equivalent.
  • 5+ years' experience in purchasing natural gas, electricity, and industrial gases.
  • Experience with negotiating and executing supplier contracts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Solid understanding of Alabama contract law.
  • Steel manufacturing procurement experience a plus.
  • Demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to competently handle a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Knows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
  • Secures and deploys resources effectively and efficiently.
