Job Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine Imaging Specialist applies the practice of nuclear medicine imaging through the safe and effective use of radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine equipment. This role is responsible for overseeing the procurement, preparation, quality control, calculation, identification, documentation, administration, disposal, storage, and safe handling of all radioactive materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure, prepare, and quality control radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine equipment
  • Calculate and administer medications as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner
  • Schedule exams and review images to determine diagnostic quality
  • Start and maintain intravenous (IV) access

Requirements:

  • Certification and Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Associate's from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited institute (preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
