Job Summary

As a Radiologic Imaging Specialist at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing routine and complex imaging exams in assigned modalities, including CT and X-Ray. Your expertise will be essential in providing safe, patient-centered care, addressing the physical and emotional needs of patients of all age groups.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex imaging exams in assigned modalities, adhering to department protocols and institutional safety standards.
• Provide safe, patient-centered care, addressing the physical and emotional needs of patients of all age groups.
• Maintain annual competencies in assigned modalities and be willing to learn new skills.

Requirements

• Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) as a Sonographer ARRT(S) or RDMS or CCI certification in Medical Sonography or RDCS certification in Cardiac Sonography or RVT certification as Vascular Technologist.
• At least one of the following specialty certifications: MRI, CT, PET, ARDMS or CCI or RDCS or RVT - specialty certification VI or CI or CCI Mammo.
• Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification.
• One (1) year of previous Technologist work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three (3) to Five (5) years of previous Technologist work experience in each of the assigned modalities.
• Previous work experience in an academic medical center environment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Radiations Science, Radiologic Technology, Sonography, or Vascular Sonography.

Working Conditions

• Prolonged standing, Prolonged sitting, Walking (distance), Reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive), Repetitive motion.
• Prolonged computer interaction.
• Fast pace environment, Able to handle multiple priorities, Frequent and intense customer interactions, Noisy environment, Able to adapt to frequent change.
