Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at AdventHealth Central Florida. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care plans for patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric.
  • Initiate, operate, manage, and discontinue pulmonary life support equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to reduce patient mortality and ICU length of stay through the use of clinical and critical thinking skills.
  • Provide respiratory care to patients on invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilators, including initiation, maintenance, and liberation of conventional modes of ventilation.
  • Manage the utilization of inhaled medical gases and perform hemodynamic procedures, including arterial cannulation and pulmonary artery catheter insertion.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to respiratory care.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
  • Active and current Florida State License as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (for Children's Hospital only).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (for non-Children's Hospital only).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
  • Infant/Pediatric experience (campus-specific).
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Active RRT-ACCS credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist Adult Critical Care Specialist) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
