Position Overview

Atlantic Health System is currently seeking a Per Diem Environmental Services Aide at Morristown Medical Center. The hours for this role will vary, including shifts on alternate weekends.

This role is part of the Atlantic Health System #teenhiring initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts thorough cleaning and sanitization of designated areas, including patient rooms and auxiliary spaces, under the guidance of the environmental services supervisor.
  • Employs appropriate cleaning tools and techniques to maintain cleanliness across all nursing units and other specified areas.
  • Adheres to departmental protocols for cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing.
  • Responds promptly to major spills and other urgent cleaning needs.
  • Restocks and organizes housekeeping carts at the conclusion of each shift.
  • Collects and disposes of waste and linens throughout the facility.
  • Follows precise instructions for the preparation of cleaning solutions and the handling of biohazard materials.
  • Regularly inspects assigned areas for cleanliness and reports maintenance needs.
  • Participates in monthly departmental meetings to stay informed about environmental service updates.
  • Addresses moderately complex issues and escalates more challenging concerns to senior staff.
  • Responsible for cleaning up bodily fluids as required.
  • Performs additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or must obtain within two years of employment.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and bend with a maximum weight of 50 lbs.
  • Valid working papers are required for candidates aged 16 or 17.
Preferred Experience:
  • Previous experience in institutional housekeeping is advantageous.
