About The Role:
This role presents a unique opportunity to join a developing team within Corporate Solutions. Reporting directly to the unit head, your responsibilities will encompass:
- Identifying and generating new business opportunities across small, middle market, and large/complex risks
- Underwriting both renewal and new risks
- Conducting thorough pricing analysis based on loss scenario evaluations
- Providing critical input into risk appetite and market insights
- Building and nurturing relationships with key producers and brokers
- Managing a book of business efficiently
- Collaborating with claims and product teams to address coverage ambiguities
- Managing complex accounts and delivering innovative solutions to clients
- Inheriting an existing renewal book while developing a new portfolio
About You:
- Educational/Professional Qualifications
- University graduate with a primary or higher degree (or equivalent)
- 3 to 5 years of underwriting experience or equivalent for Underwriter level
- Understanding of loss and combined ratios
- Experience in product contamination and recall is beneficial but not mandatory
- Key Skills and Knowledge
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Proven ability to drive the deal process with brokers and achieve a high hit ratio
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire and challenge others
- Capability to build trust across various business areas, particularly with other underwriters and brokers
- Ability to provide market feedback and contribute to division-wide growth and profitability strategies
- Proficient command of English (spoken and written)
- Resilient under stress, with the ability to work independently
- Demonstrated personal accountability for responsibilities
- Willingness to travel occasionally (primarily domestic)
- Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills
