Senior Analog Architect

San Jose, California, United States Renesas Full time
Job Description

This position is in CMSD, part of Renesas' Analog & Connectivity organization. The CMSD R&D team develops and industrializes highly configurable mixed-signal products for various applications, including consumer, communication, computing, data center, industrial, and automotive sectors.

CMSD is the pioneer and dominant market leader of the GreenPAK family of products. This customer-configurable product and platform enables customers to differentiate their products, reduces BOM cost and development cost and time.

CMSD is continuously expanding its product portfolio, including high-performance analog IPs, DC-DC, and FPGA. As a Senior Precision Analog Architect, you will lead the development of high-accuracy IP for integration in CMSD's broad portfolio of products.

As our precision analog specialist, guiding and mentoring team members is essential and one of your most important responsibilities. This is a senior technical leadership position, and you will work with design and program managers to drive NPI execution as well as continuous efficiency and performance improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Architect and design high-performance AFEs and signal-chain ecosystems, including IP such as PGA, precision voltage references, and data converters.
  • Develop high-accuracy IP with voltage accuracy on the order of 1uV.
  • Architect and design SAR A/D converters with resolution of 16-bit or higher.
  • Develop Delta Sigma A/D converters with resolution of 24-bit or higher.
  • Design Nyquist D/A converters with resolution of 18-bit or higher.
  • Architect and design ultra-low-offset chopper-stabilized amplifiers for both high-voltage (> 50V) and low-voltage (and low-power) applications.
  • Guide and mentor CMSD's global Design, Characterization, and Test Engineering team on high-voltage and high-accuracy design and test techniques.
  • Drive product definition and specification to achieve optimal tradeoffs between product competitiveness and development cost.
  • Collaborate with product definition and marketing on product roadmaps and long-term IP development plans.
  • Represent CMSD R&D and contribute to key technical meetings and initiatives at BU A&C and company level.
  • Actively participate in sharpening CMSD design methodology and way-of-working to ensure crisp and efficient execution.
