As an integral member of the team, the Electronics Laboratory Supervisor will engage in advanced technical and specialized work within the realm of electronics technology. This role supports a diverse array of electronic systems, encompassing both traditional instruments and cutting-edge tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct complex maintenance, diagnostics, and repair tasks on a variety of electronic devices.
  • Design and implement modifications to equipment tailored to the specific requirements of various experiments.
  • Oversee the selection, design, fabrication, calibration, and upkeep of electronic systems.
  • Develop special-purpose subsystems, including data acquisition modules and electronic interfaces.
  • Diagnose issues and perform analyses to identify problem areas in laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain sophisticated instruments such as spectrometers and other measurement devices.
  • Manage component-level repairs and procure necessary parts for instrumentation.
  • Collaborate closely with department heads and faculty across Chemistry, Physics, and Geology.

Physical Requirements:
This position may involve lifting heavy instruments and occasional exposure to laboratory environments and chemicals.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • High School diploma/GED with four years of relevant experience, or
  • Two years of post-secondary education with two years of experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience with electronics and software for instrumentation.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
