Job Summary

Abacus Technology Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Network Administrator to provide expert-level support for our enterprise network at Fort Johnson. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in network administration and engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues, both on-site and remotely, to ensure minimal downtime and optimal network performance.
  • Monitor and maintain network backups and maintenance logs to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Provide exceptional support to end-users, addressing applications, hardware, software, and networking issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and knowledge base articles to support end-users and improve network efficiency.
  • Oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of our local area network (LAN), ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Utilize advanced NetOps capabilities to execute network administration tasks, ensuring optimal network performance and robust security measures.
  • Implement and enforce security procedures, maintaining adherence to organizational objectives and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of network resources.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware and software, implementing network policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Provide training and support to local users on network operations as needed, ensuring a high level of network literacy and proficiency.
  • Support SCIP, Fort Johnson Combat Training Center (CTC) rotations, training exercises, and compliance with DCWF Codes.

Requirements

6+ years of experience in a network administration or engineering role, with a Bachelor's degree in a related field desired. Must be Security+ certified and have experience with NETCOM's Enterprise central management tools, including Cisco Prime, Infovista, NetCool, wireless protocols (802.11b/g/n/ac), and wireless authentication protocols such as WPA2 Enterprise, WPA3, EAP, PEAP, EAP-TLS, and EAP-TTLS. Proficiency with Orion software (e.g., NPM, NetFlow, and virtualization) and a thorough understanding of network protocols and services (e.g., TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, STP, CDP, HSRP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, FTP, TFTP, SNMP, IAS, VoIP, and 802.1x) is essential. Knowledge of IT equipment capabilities and limitations, systems design methods, and Network Management and Cyber Security approaches is required. Must be able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization and be a US citizen with a current Secret clearance.
