Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to join our team at Catholic Health Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our nursing department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement nursing strategies that align with the hospital's mission and vision
  • Collaborate with executive management and clinical leaders to ensure seamless integrated patient care systems
  • Participate in the development and ongoing review of the hospital's mission, strategic plans, budget, resource allocation, operational plans, and policies
  • Develop and implement mechanisms to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, including the development of nursing care plans and the evaluation of patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to determine staffing requirements and staff mix to effectively deliver nursing care to patients
  • Develop and implement programs to promote recruitment, retention, and continuing education of nursing staff members
  • Develop and implement mechanisms for recognizing the performance of nursing staff members engaged in patient care
  • Participate in the evaluation, selection, and integration of management information systems for nursing and other clinical areas
  • Provide direction in maintaining compliance with regulations and legislation
  • Stay up-to-date with changing health care requirements, legislation, trends, and community needs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a Master's degree in a healthcare-related field or DNP required
  • Current license in the State of New York as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Certification in Leadership preferred
  • Current leadership, management, and performance improvement concepts
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies to improve the delivery of care to patients
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and professional regulations that apply to the delivery of care
  • Demonstrated management skills: problem-solving, communication, human resources, and financial stewardship
