Job Title: Communications Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Systems Engineer to join our team at the Georgia Tech Research Institute. As a key member of our Communications Systems and Spectrum Division, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and prototyping advanced communications systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply expertise in communication systems, performance requirements, and development
  • Base communications structure and design on the recognized capabilities of targeted platforms
  • Create and analyze network protocols

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop new capabilities for 5G / FutureG systems through xApp & rApp control of RICs
  • Work with team members to develop AI / ML methods for controlling and optimizing the performance of 5G / FutureG systems
  • Identify metrics useful for observation of a communications system in order to optimize communication system performance

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated recent performance in development of xApps, rApps or comparable communication control mechanism for system performance optimization
  • Demonstrated recent performance in development of AI / ML implementations for control of a communication system
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Security Clearance
  • PhD in Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in adaptive communications systems research or development

Travel Requirements:

  • 10% - 25% travel

Education and Length of Experience:

  • Levels 3+4
