Job Title: Senior R&D Engineer

CathX Medical is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior R&D Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our R&D department, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative medical devices that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of catheters and delivery systems
  • Develop concepts, designs, and details for machines, tools, and equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches
  • Interface with external vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of components and materials
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, engineering blueprints, and detail drawings
  • Conduct testing, including bench, V&V, and in vivo testing, and develop and utilize test protocols
  • Travel to customer sites, domestic and international, to gather VOC, perform testing, and/or perform troubleshooting activities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Knowledge and experience in catheter design and development
  • Experience with CAD software, such as AutoCad or Solidworks
  • Knowledge and experience in development processes and documentation writing
  • Experience with statistical analysis and design of experiments (DOE)
  • Ability to use PC and associated software
  • In-depth knowledge of materials and metals
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Process and Good Documentation

    • Visual Acuity - The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
    • Working Conditions - The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work). The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as, gloves, frocks, hair and beard covers, face protection, foot protection, safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing

This position may require 10-25% travel between sites and customer or supplier locations as required, dependent on the needs of the organization
