Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

Rapides Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our medical imaging department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient conditions and administer radiopharmaceuticals under the supervision of a Radiologist
  • Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring proper function and safety
  • Collaborate with the lead technologist to coordinate daily patient flow and functions of Nuclear Medicine Services
  • Perform quality control procedures and documentation regarding equipment checks and calibrations
  • Ensure proper receipt, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials according to regulations and policies
Requirements:
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) or Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support or CPR for Healthcare Providers certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
