Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU

Aurora Sinai's ICU is seeking an experienced RN to join our team of nursing excellence on night shift. The ideal candidate will have 1+ year of RN experience in acute care and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Use the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan and implement individualized interventions, and evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care.
  • Include patients and families in planning and implementing care and develop a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.
  • Anticipate and recognize significant changes in patient condition, status, and need for care, and take appropriate actions when changes occur.
  • Implement strategies to reduce patient risk and increase patient safety.
  • Assess patient and family readiness to learn and individualize the approach as necessary.
  • Actively coordinate the discharge plan utilizing an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Apply evidence-based practice to deliver patient care.
  • Consistently incorporate nursing and regulatory standards of care into practice.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • 1 year of experience in clinical nursing required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to provide holistic patient care and view clinical situations from a patient and family focus.
  • Proficient computer skills, use of electronic mail and electronic medical records systems.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively with others.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:

Aurora Sinai's ICU is a 16-bed medical respiratory ICU providing state-of-the-art care to patients with diagnoses such as COPD, CHF, metabolic exacerbations, and sepsis. The department also provides care to OB patients with conditions such as hypertensive crisis, pulmonary hypertension, and metabolic exacerbations.

This unit provides great opportunities and a strong base for nurses interested in advancing their careers to acute care or critical care NPs. The unit manager and the Nursing Professional Development Generalist in the department are experienced Critical Care RNs, making this unit a perfect one to grow and develop your nursing practice guided by experts in the field.
