About the Role:

Maintain seamless communication in the Emergency Department by coordinating with various disciplines. Ensure efficient and timely EMS assignments using established protocols and procedures to deliver exceptional patient care and customer service.

  • Receive and send critical communications via phone, fax, intranet, and radio. Accurately record information in EPIC and Teletracking systems.
  • Prioritize incoming calls based on emergency or non-emergency nature. Collaborate with stakeholders to make informed decisions on patient placement and required interventions.
  • Page and call consultants as needed. Monitor pending communications and requests, following established processes.
  • Facilitate communication between physicians, staff, and external entities to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Maintain EMS drug box inventory and oversee the exchange of used or expired drug boxes.
  • Enter bed requests in Teletracking and update EPIC with status changes.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement activities and contribute to cost containment measures.
Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. EMT certification preferred.

Experience: 2 years of experience in pre-hospital, ED, or call center settings preferred.

Licensure/Certification: EMT-B or higher certification preferred.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills required. Basic computer skills, Windows applications, and medical terminology knowledge necessary. Ability to work independently and successfully complete orientation and competency validation.
