Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Automation Specialist to enhance our operational capabilities.

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in the collaborative implementation, testing, and validation of software application modifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the product team to assess and deploy application modifications of varying impact and risk based on mutually established requirements.
  • Engage in work refinement and estimation processes alongside the product team.
  • Prepare and execute testing protocols for all new and modified code in accordance with team, product, and organizational standards.
  • Partner with product and change control teams to ensure the delivery of quality outputs that provide value to customers.
  • Create and maintain essential documentation as defined by the product team or organization (e.g., support processes, team workflows, system documentation, decisions, and discussions).
  • Ensure timely project and task delivery while effectively communicating any delays or obstacles to the team and leadership.
  • Adapt to non-core responsibilities as necessary to guarantee timely service delivery to clients (e.g., analysis, testing, deployment, meeting facilitation).
  • Develop, execute, and contribute to test automation utilizing a variety of programming languages, frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
  • Recognize and incorporate testability during the design and development phases.
  • Solicit and conduct code reviews in line with team, product, and organizational standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to discussions at the product team level.
  • Detect defect-prone areas in product design and ensure adequate test coverage.
  • Actively engage in the test defect resolution process, providing detailed defect descriptions, documentation, and recommendations for resolution.
  • Participate in troubleshooting, resolution, and communication regarding urgent production issues.
  • Undertake special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient in coding with Java or JavaScript.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as TestCafe, Cypress, or Selenium.
  • Familiarity with developing features, test scenarios, and step definitions for Behavior Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber (Gherkin).
  • Knowledge of version control tools like Git and Git branching models.
  • Experience with platforms such as GitLab, Bitbucket, or GitHub.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or TeamCity.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills; capable of managing multiple priorities of low-to-average impact and risk within designated timeframes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with all members of the product team.
  • Basic understanding and application of Agile testing methodologies at the product team level.
  • Experience or education in the property-and-casualty insurance sector.
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar issue-tracking software is advantageous.
  • Experience with Xray or similar testing tools is preferred.
  • Guidewire certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of insurance principles is beneficial.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.

Compensation Overview:

The targeted hiring range for this position is $89,730-$109,670 annually. However, the base salary offered may vary based on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience, as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates seeking compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and may be considered for other positions.
