Statistical Research Analyst

Position Overview:
The International Society for Bayesian Analysis is seeking a dedicated Research Mathematical Statistician who will specialize in the creation of innovative statistical methodologies aimed at the development and evaluation of statistical data. Our organization is committed to delivering high-quality statistical insights that inform decision-making across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:
- Conduct extensive research to formulate advanced statistical methodologies.
- Develop a comprehensive research agenda and disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications in the fields of statistics and data science.
- Present research outcomes at academic conferences and collaborate with fellow researchers in both governmental and academic settings to promote methodological advancements.
- Act as a statistical expert, providing consultation to survey programs to enhance the quality of estimation and prediction for published statistical outputs.
Expertise Required:
Our ideal candidate will possess proficiency in various modeling techniques, including nonparametric methods, machine learning strategies, and Bayesian hierarchical modeling. You will utilize these models to conduct unbiased inferences about populations based on survey data and develop accurate uncertainty quantifications that consider survey design dependencies.
Innovative Approaches:
We are actively exploring modeling strategies that incorporate formal privacy protections into publicly released data products. Our datasets are typically indexed by time and space, and we expect our statisticians to demonstrate expertise in managing these dependencies. Additionally, you will engage in non-model-based approaches to generate variance estimators for published statistics derived from survey data.
Application Process:
We encourage applications from qualified candidates who are U.S. citizens. Please ensure that your application includes:
- Transcripts that validate your educational qualifications.
- A detailed resume that highlights relevant work experience, reflecting the language used in this announcement.
- Bullet points that clearly outline your work history, including employment dates and hours worked per week.
