Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Substitute Healthroom Nurse to provide healthcare services to students, employees, and teachers on an on-call basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medical care, including administering medication, providing first aid, and handling life-threatening emergency situations.
  • Perform clerical duties, such as maintaining health records, preparing accident reports, and updating computer records.
  • Review and discuss daily journals with the Certified School Nurse and maintain a clean healthcare environment.
  • Assist with screening programs, counsel students on health and hygiene, and cooperate with the District dental hygienist.
  • Support transition services for neurodivergent students with medical needs.
Requirements
  • LPN or RN, current state license
  • Accurate record keeping skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good clerical skills, including basic office computer skills
  • Attains and maintains current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Working knowledge of healthcare services and/or experience in the healthcare field beneficial
  • Required to handle medical supplies and is subject to infectious diseases
  • Proficiency in the use of technology for individual and system management, communication, and research
  • Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements
Working Environment

The Substitute Healthroom Nurse will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, providing care to students, employees, and teachers on an on-call basis. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
