Anesthesia Care Provider Needed

Rutgers University is seeking a qualified Nurse Anesthetist to join its Department of Anesthesiology. As an experienced healthcare professional, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality anesthesia care to patients.

Job Overview:
  • This role involves performing pre-anesthetic evaluations, developing anesthesia plans, and administering anesthesia in various settings.
Main Responsibilities:
  • You will develop and implement anesthesia plans, selecting appropriate anesthetic techniques and medications as needed.
  • Selecting and initiating the planned anesthetic technique, which may include general regional and local anesthesia and intravenous sedation/monitored anesthesia care (MAC).
  • Selecting, obtaining or administering the anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, and fluids necessary to manage the anesthetic, to maintain the patient's physiologic homeostasis, and to correct abnormal responses to the anesthesia or surgery.
  • Selecting, applying, or inserting appropriate non-invasive and invasive monitoring modalities for collecting and interpreting patient physiological data.
  • Managing a patient's airway and pulmonary status using endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, respiratory therapy, or extubation.
  • Managing emergence and recovery from anesthesia by selecting, obtaining, ordering or administering medications, fluids, or ventilator support in order to maintain homeostasis, to provide relief from pain and anesthesia side effects, or to prevent or manage complications.
Salary and Benefits:
  • The estimated salary range for this position is $115,429.90 - $153,523.90 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

  • Candidate must have sufficient sensory capacity to observe the patient and patient monitors.
  • Candidate must be able to communicate effectively in both academic and health care settings.
  • Must show evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in teams and possess demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, and effectively function in the face of uncertainties inherent in clinical practice.
