Embedded Systems Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team at Applied Technology Associates (ATA), a BlueHalo company. As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and maintenance of our embedded processing platforms and build environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain general-purpose firmware platform architecture
  • Develop and maintain firmware for peripheral interfaces, including analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, and high-speed serial links (SPI, CameraLink, 1 Gb+ Ethernet)
  • Develop and maintain automated FPGA firmware platform build scripts
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using Xilinx devices (Zynq, Virtex/Kintex) and toolchains (Vivado/ISE)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience designing using hardware description languages (VHDL or Verilog)
  • Knowledge of serial communication protocols and standards
  • Experience with multiple clock-domain digital design techniques
  • Experience with in-system debuggers and logic analyzers
  • Experience designing and managing FPGA physical constraints
  • Experience with Tool Command Language (TCL)
  • A U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a US Department of Defense Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the Xilinx RFSoC and Ultrascale devices
  • Familiarity with FPGA floorplanning techniques
  • Familiarity with Xilinx System generator and/or MATLAB HDL Coder
  • Familiarity with other computing languages (C/C++, Python, Java)
