Job Title: RN - Labor and Delivery Unit

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery Unit at St. Vincent Hospital, part of the Allegheny Health Network. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse assesses human responses and plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families. This role requires a strong commitment to patient-centered care, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership in a professional practice setting and contribute to building a positive team culture.
  • Assign and delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill levels.
  • Ensure a safe environment, patient condition, and complexity of interventions.
  • Provide peers with feedback on clinical practice and role performance.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care or health services.
  • Promote patient safety initiatives and participate in department-specific quality initiatives.
  • Supervise, delegate, and evaluate assigned LPN scope of practice.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement patient care plans.
  • Derive culturally and age-appropriate expected outcomes involving patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
  • Accept assignments in areas other than primary units and perform duties within individualized competency.
  • Participate in systematic peer review and obtain informal feedback on practice.
  • Meet time and attendance guidelines per hospital policy.
  • Continuously evaluate and assess patient and family satisfaction.
  • Promote compassionate communication that is patient and family-centered.
  • Assess for and attempt to resolve patient/family concerns.
  • Utilize effective time management skills to complete assigned duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications:
  • Completed RN training program and have PA RN licensure or have applied for practice permit.
  • CPR Certification.
