Job Summary

Mackenthun's Fine Foods is seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for performing critical meat cutting functions, including safe food handling, receiving, stocking, cutting, wrapping, displaying, and rotating all items in the meat department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform meat cutting functions, including cutting, wrapping, and displaying meat products
  • Assist customers with questions about Mackenthun's meats and specialty meat products
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized meat department
  • Stack cooler and freezer stock
  • Perform general housekeeping duties throughout the department
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Previous customer service experience necessary
  • Must be able to clearly speak, read, and write the English language
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and independently
  • Must be skilled in basic math
  • Must be able to minimize department losses due to improper product handling, storage, damage, and spoils
  • Must be able to perform duties in a manner that safeguards company equipment, resources, and image
Work Environment

The Meat Cutter will work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals. Must be able to work with and around machine noise, in hot or cold temperatures, on terrazzo floor, in a smoke-free facility.
