Product Development Internship Opportunity

At Hormel Foods, we invite you to join our team of innovative thinkers and problem solvers as a Product Development Intern. This exciting opportunity will allow you to gain hands-on experience in the product development process, working closely with our research and development team to commercialize new and reformulated products.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the research and development team in the commercialization of new and reformulated products
  • Participate in various stages of the product lifecycle, from ideation and design to testing, launch, and beyond
  • Apply knowledge of food science while gaining experience in the product development process
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment, following established guidelines for good housekeeping, GMPs, ServSafe, and safety

Requirements:

  • Must have at least Junior status and major in Food Science, Animal Science, or related field with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills are necessary for success in this position
  • Previous food or meat processing experience is beneficial
  • Possess a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States

Location and Hours:

Position is based out of our Research & Development division at our Corporate Headquarters in Austin, MN. Position is full time, approximately 40 hours per week beginning late May and ending mid-August.

Compensation:

Competitive wage, paid housing allowance, reimbursement of all expenses incurred on the job, company 401k match, and earn paid time off.
