Job Description
This Senior Clinical Trial Coverage Analyst position plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulations and laws related to Medicare billing practices for clinical trials at UMMS affiliates and FPI practice offices and clinics.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. They will work closely with research teams, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement efficient work processes that promote compliant billing practices.
- Create coverage analysis grids and analyze performance.
- Develop and apply policies, guidelines, and resources from federal, state, UMMS, and University of Maryland Baltimore sources.
- Disseminate relevant documents and information to various parties.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work independently with latitude for initiative and judgment, collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless clinical trial management processes.
Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and implementing financial and operational strategies that drive compliance, efficiency, and effectiveness within the organization.
Requirements and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Coding, Auditing, Finance, Accounting, Nursing, or a related field required.
- Four (4) years of clinical research experience required, with additional experience substituted for educational requirements on a year-for-year basis up to four (4) years.
- Two (2) years of experience working with coverage analysis development for clinical trials and charge segregation for research participants preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements coverage analysis grids and analyzes performance.
- Applies CMS regulations, FDA guidance, ethical policies when performing coverage analysis.
- Serves as liaison and contact with the clinical research teams and healthcare providers.
- Demonstrated skill tracking clinical and corporate contracts using electronic administration software such as Grant.gov, CICERO, OnCore, Epic, etc.
- Expert knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, word processing programs, and graphic/specialty and other finance-related software programs.
