About the Opportunity

Norton Children's Pediatric Protection Specialists is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Abuse Pediatrician to join our team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including child abuse pediatricians, social workers, advanced practice providers, nurses, and administrative support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate children suspected of child maltreatment and provide medical care and treatment as needed
  • Collaborate with a nurse or nurse practitioner on all cases, with responsibility for evaluation, case management, on-call, report writing, and court testimony when needed
  • Work in tandem with a clinical forensic nurse as a physician-extender, with nurses and nurse practitioners taking first call and collaborating with the on-call physician for every patient
  • Participate in case reviews for children who are not seen in person

Requirements
  • Board certification in general pediatrics and board certification/board eligible in child abuse pediatrics
  • Medical degree/diploma and residency/fellowship certification
  • Kentucky medical license or license eligible
