About the Role

At Carilion Clinic, we're seeking an exceptional Surgical Specialist to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver top-notch patient care and contribute to our mission of inspiring optimal health.

Key Responsibilities

As a Surgical Specialist, you'll participate in the delivery of individualized peri-operative nursing care under the supervision and guidance of a licensed physician or a registered professional nurse. You'll collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care and achieve the best possible outcomes for surgeons, gastroenterologists, anesthesiologists, and patients.

You'll be part of a dynamic team located at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Virginia. With multiple shifts available and some call requirement, this role offers flexibility and opportunities for growth.

Requirements

To be successful as a Surgical Specialist, you must have:

  • A high school graduate required, Graduate of approved Surgical Technology Program, Eligible to register as a Surgical Technologist with the VA Department of Health Professions required, Provide to the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or its successor one of the two following documents: A current credential as a certified surgical technologist; or Successful completion of a surgical technologist training program during the applicant's service as a member any branch of the armed forces of the United States.
  • Candidate must have gained experience through hands-on experience and are grandfathered in the State of VA - OR - candidate has successfully completed a training program for surgical technology during the person's service as a member of any branch of the armed forces of the United States
  • AHA-BLS-HCP certification from the American Heart Association is required. Must obtain a registration with the state of Virginia.
  • Satisfactory completion of structured orientation program.
