Summary

The Seasonal Aquatics Program Supervisor plays a vital role in the organization and management of seasonal aquatic facilities and activities. This position involves the selection, training, and oversight of seasonal staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of pool personnel, including managers, head lifeguards, lifeguards, maintenance staff, and concession workers. Address staff concerns directly or escalate to the Aquatics Coordinator as necessary.
  • Develop work schedules for aquatic personnel and assess their performance.
  • Plan, implement, and lead training sessions for aquatics staff.
  • Act as pool manager when required.
  • Ensure compliance with water quality and sanitation standards set by local health authorities.
  • Supervise the maintenance, cleanliness, and functionality of municipal swimming pools and associated facilities. Perform maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Organize and manage aquatic programs such as swimming lessons, Aqua Zumba, and facility rentals.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Conduct data entry and reporting tasks.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant education and experience that equips the candidate with the following:

Must be at least 18 years old at the time of hire.

Possession of a valid driver's license.

Completion of a physical examination is required.

Certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid from the American Red Cross is mandatory prior to commencing work.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of:
  • Water quality management and facility operations.
  • Supervisory and management principles.
Ability to:
  • Effectively supervise and guide the work of others.
  • Organize and manage special events and activities.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and the public.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend frequently during shifts.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to push and pull objects for pool maintenance.
  • Flexibility to rotate and reach during various tasks.
Part-time employees with a minimum of six months of continuous service may receive holiday pay for designated holidays, excluding specific floating holidays.
