Role Responsibilities

We are in search of a seasoned applied social science researcher with comprehensive expertise in research methodologies (design and execution) coupled with strong project management and consulting capabilities. An Applied Social Science Researcher on our team will coordinate with leadership and assist in managing long-term client initiatives. Responsibilities include consulting with clients, contributing to technical analysis, producing deliverables and presentations, implementing project strategies, supporting business development efforts, and refining client outputs. Opportunities to contribute to peer-reviewed publications may also arise.

Qualifications

  • PhD (preferred) in sociology, education, economics, psychology, public health, or a related social science field (or a Master's degree with significant experience)
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in applied research or a role with substantial technical consulting management duties
  • Demonstrated success in project management
  • Experience in scientific consulting for clients and partners is advantageous
  • Proven history of producing high-quality written materials and effective communication with diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in Stata preferred, or a willingness to learn
  • Experience in estimating, developing, and managing research project plans
  • Strong graduate-level statistical training required (probability, sampling, general linear models)
  • Experience with administrative data, electronic health records, education data, or other governmental data sources is highly preferred.

Compensation Package

The starting salary ranges from $92k to $124k per year (commensurate with experience), including annual cost of living adjustments, profit sharing, and performance-based bonuses. The compensation package also encompasses vacation, holidays, flexible work benefits, and company-sponsored access to on-site fitness facilities.

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid full-time position, requiring in-office presence on select weekdays, with options for remote work on others. Our modern office features amenities such as a fitness center. Occasional travel may be necessary for client meetings.
