Job Summary

The Department of Diagnostic Medicine at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Associate II to support human research activities investigating maternal and fetal health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit and enroll research study subjects by identifying eligible participants, scheduling study visits, and completing screening, informed consent, and subject reimbursement procedures.
  • Assist with the performance of magnetic resonance imaging examinations and laboratory sample collection and storage.
  • Develop study protocols and procedure manuals, and monitor recruitment and adherence to procedures/protocols.
  • Coordinate meetings, create agendas, and prepare institutional review board (IRB) submissions.
  • Manage assigned projects, ensuring coordination and communication with research sponsors, investigators, and research team members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., biology, social science, nursing) and 2 years of relevant experience or master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Conversational Spanish speaker.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Effective project management skills, including planning, organizing, and scheduling work in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Attention to detail and effective follow-through.
  • Ability to independently manage studies and know when to ask for help.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related biomedical or social science field with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and standard statistical and quantitative data analysis.
  • Experience with computer programming using Python, MATLAB, and/or R Studio.
  • Previous experience with research subject recruitment and data management in clinical health research.
Working Conditions

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • Use of manual dexterity.
  • Occasional weekend, overtime, and evening work to meet deadlines.
