- Profiling and Optimization: Conduct profiling and optimization within Unreal Engine to ensure the game engine runs efficiently on various hardware configurations.
- System Stability: Address performance bottlenecks and improve system stability within Unreal Engine.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement features that meet the needs of the entire development team using Unreal Engine.
- Technical Requirements: Ensure games meet all technical requirements and certification standards for each console platform.
- Industry Trends: Stay current with the latest technologies and industry trends related to Unreal Engine, evaluating their potential integration into our projects.
- Innovation: Innovate and implement new techniques within Unreal Engine to enhance game performance and player experience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a software engineer developing or porting games for console platforms.
- Game Development: Strong understanding of the game development process, with at least 1 shipped game.
- Console Platform Development: Knowledge of console platform development including: CPU, GPU, memory, storage capabilities and compliance testing for each console.
- Unreal Engine Expertise: Extensive experience with Unreal Engine, including custom engine modifications and plugin development.
- C++ Programming: Excellent understanding of C++ and experience with low-level programming and optimization within Unreal Engine.
- Graphics APIs: Experience with graphics APIs such as DirectX, OpenGL, or Vulkan.
- Multi-Threading: Familiarity with multi-threading and performance optimization techniques.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Independence: Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex technical challenges.
- Gaming Industry: Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of the gaming industry.
