Job Summary:

Newton Health Care Center is seeking a skilled Certified Medication Aide to join our team at our skilled nursing facility. As a Certified Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients by administering prescribed medications and maintaining accurate medical records.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify patient identity and record medication administration on specified forms or records.
  • Present medication to patients and observe ingestion or administration.
  • Take vital signs and observe patients for responses to medications, preparing reports or notifying personnel of unexpected reactions.
  • Document reasons for non-administration of prescribed drugs.
  • Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding, as well as assisting with examinations and treatments.
  • Receive and manage medication supplies, apportioning, mixing, or assembling drugs for administration.
  • Record and restock medication inventories.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a state-approved Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) program with successful Qualified Medication Aide designation requirements.
