Mercy is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for visits: Complete Advanced Standard room process, including entering chief complaints, taking vital signs, reviewing patient history and allergies, and completing medication reconciliations.
- Assist with in-office testing: Draw blood, complete mental status exams, EKGs, walking oxygen studies, and point-of-care testing.
- Administer vaccines and injections: Administer vaccines and other injections within the scope of practice.
- Schedule follow-up appointments: Schedule follow-up appointments as needed per office policy.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams: Collaborate with providers and clinical care teams to monitor and coordinate delivery of care plans.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.
