We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Homeless Housing Advocate to join our team at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing trauma-informed support and coaching to residents related to their integrated health and stable housing plans. This includes supporting residents in taking medications as prescribed by the clinical care team, communicating progress towards treatment and housing goals to the treatment team, and reporting any emergencies or serious changes in the health and well-being of residents.

You will also be responsible for performing housekeeping/maintenance responsibilities to ensure cleanliness and safety of the building, warming and serving meals for residents and visiting alumni, and maintaining an active presence within the facility at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Completes Basic Life Support, Trauma Informed Care, Cultural Competency, and Housing First trainings within 60 days of job start
  • Supports residents to attain their integrated health and permanent housing plan goals
  • Maintains confidentiality, follows HIPAA, and respects residents' personal property
  • Assists residents with self-care tasks as needed
  • Supports residents in taking medications as prescribed by the clinical care team
  • Communicates progress towards treatment and housing goals to the treatment team
  • Alerts treatment team and supervisors of any emergencies or serious changes in the health and well-being of residents
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A basic understanding of trauma or a willingness to learn
  • Experience working within a model of trauma-informed care or a desire to do so
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Physical requirements: ability to lift up to 50lbs., to stand, to walk up and down 3 flights of steps multiple times a shift, and to perform cleaning tasks
Estimated Salary Range

$45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience
